HOW THE DOGS OF WAR SLAUGHTERED ANIMAL VOLUNTEER ANASTASIIA
This young Ukrainian volunteer, Anastasiia Yalanskaya, died as she delivered food to a dog shelter outside of Kyiv.
Anastasiia Yalanskaya was filming her fight for the animals when she was killed.
It has been suggested she may have been traced through her social media posts.
Anastasiia’s Instagram post was posted hours before her death. The post showed her sitting in the back of a car with bags of dog food.
The dogs at the shelter had not been fed for three days. Two others died in the attack.
nastasiia Yalanskaya is a 26-year-old Ukrainian woman who was born and raised in Kyiv. She decided not to evacuate with her friends and family and instead fight against the Russian troops.
Her Facebook page shows that she worked at DataRobot, an AI software development firm. A colleague there was one of the first to pay tribute.
Anastasiia graduated from Drahomanov National Pedagogical University.
Before she left for the trip, her husband told her to be extra cautious but the three volunteers had completed the trip to the dog shelter and were returning back home when Russians used ‘heavy weaponry’ to gun down the car.
The car was travelling through Bucha, 18 miles outside of Kyiv which wasn’t far from the home of one of the volunteers. One of the fathers of the volunteers found the car covered with bullets.
Anastasiia – who helped the war effort as much as she could looking after orphans and the vulnerable – was sleeping in an underground car park to avoid bombs.
RIP ANASTASIIA
