Markle mangle as Piers storms off – and is gone!
Piers Morgan has left packed in Good Morning Britain over the Meghan Markle debacle.
A statement from ITV said: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”
The decision after Ofcom said it was investigating after receiving 41,000 complaints.
Piers had said he “didn’t believe a word” the duchess had told Oprah Winfrey in an interview. He had also stormed off set after a row with co-star Alex Beresford.

Re Piers Morgan being sacked from This Morning Britain. Paraphrasing a sentiment I recently saw published. If you hire a Rottweiler, Don’t be surprised when it bites. Piers Morgan is not unused to being sacked. He’ll pop up and start again as the man we love to hate.
Piers Morgan apparently said that Meghan lied in the interview. If so there were some very serious subjects chosen to lie about in order to make her point. We’ll never know. One way of looking at the racism claim. The culprit is anonymous (about the only point where Harry seems to have held back in the process of slagging off his family). However, not usually a source I would turn to for reason – Meghan’s father – believes the royal family is not racist but it was some ‘dumb’ person making a gaffe, unintentionally racist . Again as we don’t even know the context of the gaffe we’ll never know. The only thing which is certain is that the two celebrities who chose to be interviewed by Oprah made a good job of washing the dirty linen of the Royal Family in public. Pity that, as an entertainment, it turned out to be so boring.
