Already the middle-crasses of the UK are saying that that Matt Hancock deserves his privacy when he’s having a fumble with his chamber ‘aide’…
Health Secretary Hancock has admitted breaking social distancing guidance after pictures of him kissing an aide – what a joke! Social distancing! Did he trip and fall on to her with his lips protruding?
Social distancing at work is not a legal requirement Martt, but the government recommends that people stay 2m apart where possible – or 1m with “risk mitigation”, such as standing side-by-side or wearing masks.
Matt has said he “let people down” after photos came out of him with Gina Coladangelo – whom he appointed.
Who’ve you let down then Matt? The Missus?
Labour has called on Boris to sack Mr Hancock, but I think Mrs Hancock will have him in sack-cloth and ashes for some time to come, don’t you?
However, Boris Johnson accepted Mr Hancock’s apology and considers the matter closed.
And so do many of the public who say it was a private moment!
Well, newspapers are all about kiss and tell and always have been when the person we are telling on is in a position on trust and power over us.
Matt’s personal affairs are private, except when it’s at his work, during the biggest crisis in decades, and at a time when hugging was publicly not allowed, with someone he brought to government.
The public interest seems quite clear-cut here.
