Melitopol is a town at the crossroads … it stands on the Molochna River through the eastern edge of the city and into the Molochnyi Lyman, joining the Sea of Azov.
The city is located at the crossing of the E58 Vienna – Uzhhorod – Kyiv – Rostov-on-Don and E105 Kirkenes – St. Petersburg – Moscow – Kyiv – Yalta.
It has population of 150,768. Melitopol and serves as the administrative center of Melitopol Raion.
Now it is administering defiance, determination and heroism in the face of the Russian invasion. The people – like so many more in the Ukraine – show they are battered but unbowed by the Russian soldiers who intend to destroy their lives…
